as a freshman it seemed to drag on and on forever. now its flying by and wish it would slow down. i usually goofed off the first couple of years and had the i don't care attitude. come to realize it is not a very good attitude to have because in school everything counts. i paid for my mistakes, i had to stay after school for credit recovery so i could get all my credits for geometry and the next year i also had to retake chemistry for half a year and i am passing with 106. i didn't think i was capable of doing that. but guess what i did because i changed my attitude, payed more attention to the teacher and studied hard. it was not easy let me tell ya. it was a lot of hard work and late nights, but it paid off. that one little change in determination kept me from failing and i will be happily graduating this year!!!
to look back and think that i could have very easily failed to graduate is a big eye opener. I love school but not enough to come back. But i do owe a huge Thank You!!!! to all of my teachers for putting up with me and helping me change my grades around and giving me along with a million other students support. Believer or not they are here to help, not just hand out DM's and tell you what to do. they are here to help you learn and prepare you for college and life outside of school. without an education it is very difficult to go far. more or less get a decent job. school matters and can ultimately decide were you start in reality. you can decide whether school can be fun or it can be a royal pain, you decide. GOOD LUCK UNDERCLASSMAN!!! i really do mean that.

Rain to me is peace. When it rains or storms it feels like i have all the time i need to get everything done and relax at the same time. Life slows down so you can sit back and think about your life, how far you've come, the lessons you've learned in between, the good times and bad, also whats to come. It gives you the opportunity to give time to yourself to get yourself back on track if you need to, think about the situations you are in and how to fix it to the best of your ability. To fully evaluate yourself and think about what needs to be done and what you can do without. For most people it makes them want to fall asleep because it is so peaceful or gloomy as people like to call it. yea the sky may seem miserable and gray, but look at it in a different angle. be still and listen to each drop that hits the ground and the waves of thunder that rumble in the back ground. its beautiful. if your lucky enough and not too busy scurrying around to get things done you might have a chance to see the rainbow through it all. always try to look at the bright side, past the gray sky and the black clouds makes everything less miserable and all the big things aren't so big any more. rain whats it to you?

Home to me is my church. it's one great big family. we look out for each other everyday and if we happen to need something they will come running if they can. if things aren't to well at home they are my back up family. my church family has helped me a lot with my family at home. recently we have been having family problems. our mom left about a year ago and the family has just been pulled too many different ways that we all clash. so much fighting and disagreeing with each other gets tiring after a while. we have to understand that we each have a lot on our shoulders you can't just throw away. it gets harder and harder every day;but there is one person that can take that away and a family you can share the burden with. sometimes its weird to share everything with your parents, thats why its so easy to tell our friends everything or somebody in the church or youth groups and more. you always have someone you can turn to because we don't want you to hold it in until you explode. your friends and other families can help you cope with your burdens and worries, your never alone. my home is my church.

I'm glad I'm not a perfect girl and living in an imperfect world. If this world was perfect, Everything would come too easy without curves or bumps. There wouldn't be any challenges to face or any to accomplish. A life with no surprises or mistakes to learn from or opportunities to be taken. No journey to embark on or the adventures in between. Nobody would have a purpose to live for because it is too perfect.
When we make mistakes we learn to avoid them, some way to work around them so it wont happen again. When we face challenges we strive to achieve them. When everyone tells you you can't; you prove them wrong. The challenges we face everyday help us accomplish what we want in life. They help us reach our most important goals and achieve much more than we ever imagined. Being imperfect makes the world that much more exciting. It makes memories we will never forget, friends will miss forever and a life we lived to the fullest. Most importantly it shapes who you are and who you will be. I am proud to say that my life is imperfect. I am imperfect. I have learned a lot and achieved much more. Without the mistakes I've made or the challenges I've faced i wouldn't be who i am today.

i was afraid of freddy courger when i was little inturn making me parnoid in the dark.
i would get the intense feeling that someone was following me. Anytime i would be in the dark i would be sure to have another friend with me or something i can defend my self with, such as a bat. i couldn't walk down stairs without a flashlight in one hand and something to swing in the other. when it came time to go to bed, my arms, legs, hands and all would be covered. If i let it hang off the bed i believe that freddy would grab me. now that i look back i laugh everytime, thinking someone could actually come through walls and floors.so far i have not had anymore nightmares, but have had some crazy dreams.
and i love to watch scary movies as long as you cant tell they are fake and the plot of the story is good. other than that it is also fun to scare the person your sitting by when you think a good scary part is coming up. your nudge them and they scream like crazy, then they get mad at you and start nudging you back. ahh good times.

Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.
Each individual needs a time to relax and observe were they are at and how far they've come. we all need a time to ourselves with no parents, no siblings or teachers. just some time alone on your front porch or in the grass; to find yourself at peace in the world and in yourself. it helps us understand the world and how it works. How time really seems to fly when your having fun, yet it doesn't really fly. when it seems to drag on and on, but agian it doesn't drag. it allows us to enjoy that moment point in time. that all the cares in the world fades away. the burdens, worrried. greif, anger and regret are no longer an isssue. For the first time you feel free. nobody is holding you back. you gain your confidence back and your sence of self worth. we start to look at the positive side of things instead of spazin out about all the negative possibilities. we laugh more than cry. humor instead of anger and tend not to hold grudges because all it does is put another stone on your shoulders. taking the time to think and relax yourself really makes a big difference especially when you have so much weight on your shoulders that you can barely walk.
if you want chill with a friend; you don't have to do it alone.

i would be miserable if i couldnt read or write.
i love reading especailly mistery books and christian books. i wouldnt have near the imagination as i do now. when reading im lost in a whole new world. everything around me dissolves into blurs and silence. when i use my imagination it becomes my story, my world, my moment of peace.
if i couldnt write i would definately fail school. i write a lot of my feelings on paper. whether im angry happy or sad, i get it off my chest by writing or singing it out loud. i have a habbit with holding a lot of things in. a lot of what i hold in is everything my friends say. unless they ask me to tell someone else, it never comes out oof my mouth again. but sometimes it can become a huge burden. in order to lift it off my shoulders i write it down on paper and then shred so i can finally relax a litttle. over all i am thankfull that i can read and write.

what does it mean?

Money means nothin' but a pain in the neck. Can't live with it, yet can't live without it. money has become a neccessity to live. all anybody ever wants anymore is more money. they have become so greedy that they don't care what they have to do to get it. most Hospital employers take to minutes to look at you and they diagnose you 2 seconds later whether its wrong or right and than send you a big fat bill in the mail just for them to look at you. i was in the emergency room for ever because they were watching a football game. after the game was over some one finaly came and told me what was wrong. all i got was an Iv in the arm and blood taken and had to pay over a thousand. no lie. i can show you the bill.

is it important or not?
yes and no. the only reason it is important is because it has become part of a neccesity to live. In order to buy food, to pay for bills such as electricity and water, gas and heat. we have to pay doctor bills, car bills, insurance alot! medication and resaerch. clothes i can go on and on about the things we have to pay for.

how much is enough?
for me there is never enough money. we always need more because most of it goes to bills. we always need it to get groceries among other things. the only time yo9u have enough or more than enough is when you have so much money that you don't know what to do with it.

how does the lack of money impact life?
many people fall into to dept because they have to take out a mortgage on there house so they can keep their house and end up losing it anyway. many who cant pay bills or dept end up on the streets. many cant be treated for there condition or sickness. intern many people die everyday on the streets. many children don't have shoes to put on their feet or clothes on their back. sometimes they don't even have food to ease their stomachs.
money has a vary big impact on life today. even though it is very important to everyday lives. it is the biggest problem in America.

does it make the world go round?

My opinion yes. i think love is blind because you never really know until it smacks you in the face. It could be the person standing right in front of you and not have a clue. The person could be miles away and just happen to meet them on a trip or plane. For that matter might even be your best friend. I mean there is no sign to tell you "hey! here i am" you know?. Hints the blind part. In reality you literally can't see it. Like the wind. you can't see it, you can feel it; unless you have a bunch of trees in your yard, but thats beside the point. You feel it in your heart. Its an interesting journey.

Do what you love, it's something you love to do everyday. it gives something to look forward to . you leave your worries an thoughts behind and just start working. if you like what you do, you can actually stick with it instead of going from place to place. when you love what you do, you can keep a good job and earn some good money without being miserable. Take me for instance i absolutely love to weld!! love it. i would weld everyday if i could. Its alo something im good at. when i get mad or upset i would go weld or make something out of wood and what not. when i stopped thinkng about what i was mad about and started thinking about what i was working on; i actually felt pretty good. welding or any kind of work that i like is how i cope with certain situations. not only that but i can make some good money as well. i can live everyday doing what i love and live happy. i can also make a bunch of new friends. find what you love to do and go for it. experiment with new things. dont be afraid to take the challenge. theres always something

how many of you out there heard that O'bama was going to speak to the schools? the majority thought o'boy here we ago again. "isnt he on tv enough?" i know i did. so I'm sittin' in Government class drawing on my notebook;thinking come on lets get it over with, until i started listening to what he was saying. i changed my thought completely. In his speech he mentioned that " asking a question does not show weekness" as most students think. we think that if we ask a question we will look stupid and everyone will laugh and in most cases thats what happens.
the people laughing and having a good ole time don't realize that in reality they are creating a new oppertunity to go beyond their understanding and learn something new. Funny how all someone has to do is change the words around and give it a total different meaning. As he kept giving his speech, he also wanted us to push ourselves to succeed. that only we ourselves are capable of moving forward. not because the teacher. to me his speech was rather inspirational because i have been falling back because of certian situations, but i am not going to let it get in the way of my future. I am going to kick it up a knotch and push myself to stay focused. You are the only person Responsible for your future. nobody said it was going to be easy. just keep gettin' back up, never hurts to try again

when you're with your friends you almost always have fun. you're not afraid to let out who you really are, because they accept us for who we are. so we can get a little crazy in return. Make jokes, laugh for no apparent reason, and have a good ole time. We go mudding or Geocachining. shopping, movies all that good stuff.
On the other end when things aren't going so great with family, school or anything else its no fun going through it alone. when you have a friend you know you can turn to; it takes a lot off your chest. You are able to tell that person everything knowing it will stay between you and that friend. Instead of bottling it all up and explode; all you gotta do is pop the top and share. it may not take the pain away or the acknowledge that the issue is still there but sharing that grief just cut the weight on your shoulders in half. Thats a good feeling to have.
what we miss the most is that your not only able to move forward, but you are also able to conquer that that was holding you down. whatever it may be.

The worlds low expectations have taken quite the affect on us teens. From its point of view we aren't expected to succeed at difficult tasks, situatons or even keep a job. In return we don't bother to try after the second and third try because we get frustrated and have accepted the thought that we can't succeed at the task in hand. when in reality we have the potenial to accomplish our goals and so much more. Thats why they are called challenges. They challenge you to see just how far you can go, how far are you willing to go and how bad you want to succeed. Without challenges life would be boring. With each challenge you learn something new and also open up another oppertunity to accomplish something else. Challenges are a good thing in life. Now whether you make the best out of it or not is your decision. Even accomplishing simple things like chores prepares you for the real world when your off on your own.
The world is one thing, you as a person is something totally different.
